Under 9's introduction:
The under 9's Practice Night is every Thursday evening during the season ..... 6.00 till 7.30pm
All coaching at the club takes place in a secure and safe environment .....
The aims are to learn good cricketing skills ..... and in this respect, they will be able to make use of our new junior coaching mat ..... which has been purchased with the kind assistance of the 'Colne Valley Lions' ..... and the 'By and Buy' Shop at Sycamore Avenue.
We endevour to coach and teach them to play to the best of their ability ..... while respecting opponents in a competitive environment ..... and also to have fun and enjoy themselves ..... and, as a family club, we encourage parents and friends to also become involved on match days and at training

Players eligible to play must be under 9 at midnight on the 31 August 2005
We welcome all to our training sessions
All cricket equipment is provided for training and matches ..... but players have to provide their own 'whites/clothing' if chosen to play in matches.
Under 9 Teams comprise 8 players, who bat in pairs.
Each pair to bat two overs with each batter receiving six balls in turn.
Fielders rotate clockwise after every over.
All players bowl either over or underarm from the same end.
Windballs rather than hard balls are used.
The club actively encourages families and friends to be involved ..... by attending matches and providing transport to away matches ..... helping with fundraising efforts ..... and keeping the ground and facilities tidy.
